What makes Willow Ponds feel different from other neighborhoods?

Homes are creatively designed in relation to each other by using articulation and separation of buildings creating privacy between neighbors.

Privacy is also created with the use of earthen berms and large plantings between homes rather than using fences. These large plantings decrease exposure to wind and noise.

With smaller home footprints the relationship between the indoor and outdoor spaces becomes more important and allows for better health benefits.

Public parks and green spaces are located throughout the development allowing easy access from each of the homes.

Narrower streets with off-street parking and slower traffic provides a more pedestrian feel.

Stormwater runoff from impervious surfaces are directed toward catchment ponds and swales filtered by native wetland plants. This limits the conveyance of stormwater to public storm sewers and creates native habitats onsite.

Trees...lots of trees. We believe that the most direct way to benefit the environment is to plant trees. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and other pollutants, reduce storm water runoff, reduce energy use for winter warming and summer cooling, reduce wind and noise, increase property values, create wildlife habitats while beautifying the neighborhood.

Where are the miles of front yard lawns? As part of the storm water management plan, we know that trees, shrubs, natives and perennials offset storm water quicker than lawn areas. Therefore a maximum footprint is allowed for lawn areas on each lot. Often these lawns are hidden in backyards or behind earthen berms of natural plantings.

The intergenerational community of homeowners share the foundations that protect, maintain and respect neighbors. This sense of community creates a fun place to live and cultivates life-long friendships. Willow Ponds residents share the love of nature and the outdoors, sharing diverse interests including walking, biking, hiking, running, gardening, beekeeping, quilting, art, mahjong, music, water sports and so much more.
